Among the small collection of five styles, every pieces are made in the UK and handcrafted in London with a commitment to high quality finish based on collaborations with the finest craftsmen. Milan-born photographer Luca Tombolini uses large format photography to conduct his series of studies on landscape, titled ‘LS’ (Landscape Studies). In series ‘LS VIII’, he enquires human’s existence and self-consciousness in relation to land and time. Rather than stopping time, Tombolini considers photography to be compressing time as if the moment captured could have existed forever. As he describes: “The dawn of mankind, a time with no rationality. An ancestor contemplating the cosmos perceives the necessity of a divinity. The Second Cosmogony takes place along with the miracle of self-thinking consciousness. In that moment he knows he exists for a reason; he's got the significative element and this had found a way to reveal itself to him. Conscious and Unconscious got together in the creation of the Self.”
