Rustic Nature

Ling-Ling x Paula Faraco

What happens to a landscape when earth and water combine, or when organic material and mineral meet? Fashion designer Ling Ling collaborates with Berlin based photographer Paula Faraco, to explore this question, and discovered the perfect expression of nature in the Icelandic landscape.

Ling-Ling’s Rust scarf collection was inspired by the ever-changing natural processes that occur in the nature – the re-emerging of new colors, textures and patterning. Rust became an ongoing project of rusted textiles with the aim of experimenting with the combination of contrasting natural materials.

The Rust scarves are handcrafted from pure merino wool and dyed with copper – both essentially warming elements. Dying wool with copper is an organic process that results into unique rusted pattern for each piece. The fine weave of the wool produces a lightweight scarf that is suitable for all year round. Each scarf is handmade in Germany with locally sourced fabric.

The collection has either a lightly or heavily rusted surface, giving you a color choice of a light natural cream colour with a rusted pattern or a rust orange color with a rusted pattern. Lastly, the scarf has been designed as a unisex object.
