RITARITA x Dana Stirling
Inspired by 90’s movie, RITARITA’s AW16 Collection lures us into a Wes Anderson like fiction, where the scenes are completed by Dana Stirling’s photo series ‘Cache’, documenting her childhood memories through still life.
RITARITA’s winter collection visualizes a surreal dreamlike dimension, and translates it into abstract prints of emerald crystals, deconstructed clouds and disco ball lights on the purest fabrics of wool and silk. A brand new addition this season is the coat: simple and elegant outwear, with v-neck and diagonal cuts, opposed to the raglan geometries. Born as a collaboration between Illustrator Silvia Gherra and Fashion Designer Margherita Mazza, RITARITA is the complete expression of a refined and precise style tied both to the fashion and the design world.
For this season, the duo continues its focus on volume precision and lines simplicity, creating everyday elegance and essential fashion as the brand’s signature since the very beginning.
With family roots in England, Photographer Dana Stirling was born and raised in Israel. Growing up as a child on a fence, she always felt a misfit with her partial incomplete identity. In search for her identity, she uses photography as means to examine her history. Through still life photography and found footages, she unfolds memories sometimes not necessarily the same ones that were originally embedded in them. By capturing little and unimportant objects around her, she made them a part of her history. “The images become objects that I use in order to create a new history and memory of my own,” Stirling said, “With my camera I grant them with eternity and in that I grant myself a memory.”
