Outdoor Colors

meshit x Ulrike Meutzner

Inspired by the outdoors and autumn/winter’s earthy yet wide ranging colors, fashion label meshit and photographer Ulrike Meutzner created work that lure us into the lukewarm fantasy of the cold seasons.

Meshit’s AW16/17 collection is inspired by seafaring. Working clothes being a big topic throughout the label’s past collections, workers on the sea–fishermen, seamen and sailors–became special influence on this collection. Classic details taken from the seamen uniforms and elements of the fishermen clothing are united and newly interpreted. Various blue tones are used to reflect the depth of the sea. Steel blue, navy and azure are combined with emerald green, beige and warm light brown to bring us closer to the nature.

Photographer Ulrike Meutzner’s personal series ‘Piz Gloria’ documents her hike to Schilthorn in the Bernese Alps of Switzerland. “Autumn is the best time to go for a hike in Switzerland. I love the colors then, they are the most beautiful!” Meutzner told us. At Piz Gloria, the moving clouds changed the view every second. As Meutzner enjoys the process of being outdoors and discovering things spontaneously, she freezes images in between changing moments.
