Just like our coffee, we sometimes like our clothes black - THISISNON counter strikes with a sequel to Black Merino adorned by ingenuous still lives from CJ Heyliger.
As Black Merino 2 is not a far cry from the first collection, the ethereal Polish brand comes back with a collection that is steeped in the raw beauty and softness. Once again timelessness and longevity are key notions but are reinterpreted with an unvarying love for finely crafted fabrics and minimalism. The notions of modernity and sophistication are still present; two qualities that are bound to amaze the lovers of expertly designed pieces. High-tech thermo insulation is introduced here to better the comfort of the wearer, who are looking for conceptual clothing.
The designs are focused around the idea that quality should come before quantity – as you probably have gathered by now, you are dealing with a top-notch collection of garments produced and considered as more than mere disposable trendy items.
The word minimalism has rarely sounded more accurate. Each piece brought to your eyes is thought so it can become a solid investment, deprived of any fuss or artificial fabrics. Enhanced by the work from high-profile artist CJ Heyliger, desert lands and black stones become the moving environment of Black Merino 2. Heyliger's work is meant as an ode to landscapes and nature. His pictures are gateways leading us into the depths of his imagination. By reshaping the limits of the environments that surround us, he invites the viewer to reconsider the hidden beauty of commonplace objects. The grandeur of his photographs is very much in line with the THISISNON design philosophy - the strength and beauty of natural landscapes are projected onto the monochromatic shapes of the garments, just like shadows in the water.
THISISNON aims to design clothing that is independent of fashion and trends. The label carefully selects only essential elements to build beautifully minimal shapes. Its aim is to make a difference by encouraging timeless, longlasting design that challenges fashion. THISISNON believes that buying less and seeking quality rises respect for human work and planets resources. The label dedicates its work to people interested in ideas rather than trends, who find beauty in simplicity, as it insistently does.
