Atelier Bartavelle’s SS17 collection "Les Auffes" is inspired by the Auffes, a small traditional haven in Marseille, France. Between the sky and the sea, in the heart of an urban district, you will discover the scenery and inspirations of the collection in the words of the French writer Anne Collongues, and images by the label’s own Caroline Perdrix.
Continuing its poetic venture in the south of France, French label Atelier Bartavelle collaborates with photographer Francesca Ferrari, translating the story of its AW16 collection Méounes into visuals.
"Ettore" is inspired by the photo series land art "Metaphors" of the artist Ettore Sottsass. The artist Charlotte Develter has made three set ups in the limestone quarries of La Ciotat, near Marseille, which echoes the color range of the collection, architecture and print garment.
ATELIER BARTAVELLE offers a wardrobe composed of outer garments and layers. Vests, jackets, perfectos, (trench- )coats are available in high quality materials in a wide range of colors that span the seasons. It is a minimalist wardrobe that is constantly evolving and articulates the search for the unique. One by one, all the pieces of the collection are stackable. The cut of each garment has an architecture inspired by maritime geometry. Each piece has a story to tell, that is not limited to its conception and design but extends to it's creation: a rare fabric, the know-how of a workshop and a craftsman. All the garments of Atelier Bartavelle are made in Marseille, Lodz and Porto.
